Gearfire’s Travis McCamish Wins Precision Rifle Series Southwest Regional Championship

October 22, 2021

Scottsdale, AZ, October 22, 2021 – Gearfire congratulates shooting team captain, Travis McCamish for his recent performance at the Precision Rifle Pro Series Southwest Regional Championship where he secured first-place overall and in the Gas Gun division. Having three prior PRS wins under his belt, Travis has accumulated 300 series points, tying him for first place in the national rankings and qualifying him to compete for the National title at the Pro Series Finale taking place at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico, November 6th – 7th, 2021.

“Travis has a track record of producing excellence on a daily basis and his contributions to our company are truly invaluable,” says Chad Seaverns, COO of Gearfire. “These PRS victories are exactly what we’d come to expect out of an individual who exhibits such talent. We couldn’t be more proud of his representation on the field.”

One of the biggest contributing factors of success comes from a shooter’s choice of rifle. Travis shoots a custom AR10 chambered in 6GT, built from components offered by our industry’s top manufacturers. The new wildcat cartridge is a great balance between ballistic performance and low recoil, which maintains consistent precision and reliability, delivering Travis the aim that wins tournaments.

Travis’ recent Precision Rifle Series tournament victories include:

  • Tactical Precision Rifle Challenge (Phoenix, AZ) – 1st Gas Gun / 6th Overall
  • Reveille Peak Ranch Open (Burnet, TX) – 1st Gas Gun / 11th Overall
  • Central Coast Chaos AG Cup (San Louis Obispo, CA) – 1st Gas Gun / 5th Overall
  • 2021 PRS Southwest Regional Championship – 1st Gas Gun / 1st Overall

Just as Travis continues to produce meaningful achievements in his professional role as Director of Manufacturer Relations, he likewise does so when he represents Gearfire in an external capacity, capturing equally impressive wins in the competition arena. As he trains to become National Precision Rifle Pro Series champion, Gearfire stands proud of his current accomplishments and looks forward to supporting his future victories.
